The Role is located within the Information Technology Services Branch in the Information Management and Technology Division. The Division provides innovative and integrated ICT Systems and information management services and support. The function of the IT Services Branch is to maintain and support the security of infrastructure and systems to deliver the capabilities and services to meet required business service levels.
ROLE PURPOSE
Build, implement and document network solutions and services for handover to network operations
Role responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs.
  • Implement network changes in conjunction with network operations
  • Analyse and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Prepare operational documentation as required
  • Integrate with approved monitoring and alerting platforms for operational and security monitoring
  • Support and problem investigation during project build and implementation stages
  • Manage handover of network services to operations for ongoing support
  • Engage and consult with EAs, Solution and Program Architects to support and integrate overall solution with departmental network and security standards and industry best practice
  • Engage with cloud & infrastructure engineers and network operations to complete detailed design and plan RFCs for solution implementation
  • Provide support and consultancy for project and other activities as required


Deploy and manage infrastructure, cloud and network services in support of corporate and schools based users. Support the implementation of IT services across the department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
IT Design

  • Collect and collate content from stakeholders to support IT design and development
  • Design and develop systems and program specifications
  • Implement systems in accordance with the department's Architecture Standards and policies

IT Reviews

  • Participate in technical reviews and provide expert advice
  • Review and participate in development of technical documents
  • Provide expert advice for technical documents
  • Participate in QA processes

IT maintenance and issue resolution

  • Assist operational support team to Investigate problems reported by users
  • Assist operational support team to Maintain system security
  • Assist operational support team to Monitor and analyse IT performance
  • Provide technical support for system/software release/go live/warranty stages

Reporting

  • Provide advice and make recommendations about data reporting
  • Provide advice on reports and data generated by systems, databases and tools

Needs: - Extensive experience implementing network services across a large distributed organisation leveraging Cisco-based switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 across on-premise and public cloud (Azure/AWS)

QUALIFICATION

  • Essential : Minimum 5 years' experience deploying infrastructure or network services across large enterprise environments Information Technology
  • Essential : Cisco (routing, switching, wireless), F5, Palo Alto
  • Desirable : Cloud network, Equinix Cloud Exchange, Azure networking, AWS, Oracle, Solarwinds, Ansible, Terraform, Python (network automation and provisioning

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

  • Desirable : Accreditation technology Certifications across data centre, cloud and network
