Role: Software Developer / Application Developer
Location(s): VIC, SA
Contract duration : Initial 5 month term with 3 x 3 month extensions
Overview
The client is seeking for an experienced Software / Applications Developer who will work within a team of IT Specialists to design, develop, and test a new application to replace an ageing bespoke legacy application. Developer will engage with various key stakeholders and work to produce a high quality application that will allow the analysis and secure ingest of research data.
Some of the key responsibilities of the Software Developer are as follows, but not limited to:
- Work closely with IT specialists to understand the requirements and limitations of the application.
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Integrate software components and third-party programs
- Verify and deploy the application
- Troubleshoot, debug the application
- Gather and evaluate user feedback
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
Skills requirements / Skill level
- Proven experience as a Software Developer or similar role
- Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. Python (Celery, Flask), Java, JavaScript, AppleScript)
- Knowledge of web development languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Demonstrated experience working with Linux\Windows Server operating systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
Accreditation/education requirements
- 5+ years software and application development experience
