Manpower is actively engaged with a Federal Government department that is now looking for a Policy & Project Officer to work directly with project leads on initiatives to better connect theory and practice in initial teacher education, including through robust and innovative school-university partnership and a focus on professional experience.

This is a 3-month VPS 3 role and will commence ASAP.

What to Expect:

  • Enters purchase requisitions into Ariba and processes invoices
  • Uses appropriate purchasing processes that reflect the complexity of the procurement in accordance with departmental policy
  • Contribute to projects including reporting, monitoring of budgets and tracking progress
  • Maintain relevant databases and registers for tracking
  • Assist in the development and review of manuals and procedures
  • Explain rules, procedures and operational policies
  • Modify, implement and effectively maintain administrative, filing and information management systems
  • Review and monitor efficiency and effectiveness of administration work practices and procedures
  • Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to contribute to the achievement of common goals
  • Manage relationships with and between program or project stakeholders
  • Establish and support governance arrangements, processes, project control boards and working groups
  • Establish and monitor consistent project/program reporting and communicate this to relevant parties and decision-makers

About you:

  • Develops and implements systems and procedures to guide work and track progress
  • Identifies more and less critical activities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required
  • Identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal
  • Recognises barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them
  • Procurement Knowledge - Demonstrated experience working within procurement policies and procedures that align to principles of accountability, scalability, probity and value for money
  • Constructively deals with stakeholder issues
  • Links people with other areas (as appropriate)
  • Monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Takes concrete steps to add value for the stakeholder
