This large department plays a critical role in enhancing the lives of Queenslanders and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applications Tester to join the corporate applications on an initial 3-month contract with a view to being extended another 3-months
Under the direction of the Manager or a Technical Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Use testing and business analysis expertise to review solution changes undertaken by Corporate Applications developers efficiently and effectively, within required timeframes, to confirm they meet client business and technical requirements as specified and recording results that have been found.
  • Provide analysis for translation of complex Business and Technical requirements to test cases by liaising with Technical and Business teams to create/amend test cases to accurately reflect the requirements.
  • Complete system, integration, performance and regression testing and associated activities such as accurate defect logging and prioritisation within established frameworks, strategies, standards, methodologies and policies. Retest all amended defects to determine if they now meet client business and technical requirements as specified.
  • Collaborate positively with clients and colleagues within the testing/development team and other teams (including external stakeholders) across the all Corporate Applications to facilitate timely test planning, preparation, execution and issue/defect resolution. Work collaboratively to achieve outcomes with a commitment to quality and customer service to meet test execution deadlines to ensure a timely release of functionality.
  • Have proficiency with test automation and data migration processes.
  • Utilise contemporary testing toolsets and have a detailed understanding of testing methodologies.
  • Raise defects and potential improvements arising from the test planning and test execution phase.
  • Accurately report on test outcomes as well as provide detailed information in regular status meetings.
  • Provision of input to all testing estimates and to the other test plans.
  • Escalate all issues and risks through the appropriate channels.
  • Review and agree to testing estimates with the Manager or a Technical Lead.
  • Participate in the change request process as required by the Manager or a Technical Lead.
  • Provide walkthroughs for future releases of corporate applications to business stakeholders when required.


To be successful in this role you will have to meet the following skillset criteria:

  • Prior experience in testing enterprise corporate applications and system(s).
  • Prior experience verifying integration with financial and/or payment system(s), and other systems.
  • University degree in IT or equivalent.
  • Applicable industry level qualifications including ISTQB.
  • Experience in a large, complex, custom build software development environment.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).


This is a great opportunity to secure a contract for a start on Monday 4th January 2021. You will be offered a 3-month contract with an option to extend for 3 months and an hourly rate of up to $78 p/h.
