One of our Large clients is currently looking to engage with a Senior Project Manager. This role will be assigned to manage one or more projects in the ICT Infrastructure project portfolio.
typical projects may include:
- ICT fit out of a new or relocated site
- Network infrastructure upgrades
- Data centre and/or cloud infrastructure services
- Deployment of end user compute solutions
- Identity and access management uplift
- Upgrade or migration of enterprise applications
Duties of the role:
- Manage and lead the delivery of major projects and initiatives in relation to time, cost, scope and quality. This may include major business case development, undertaking strategic assessments, managing organisational change, and implementing ICT solutions.
- Establish effective stakeholder relationships and communication channels, using informal and formal methods of communication, including the preparation of complex reports, briefings and presentations to influence senior stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Implement and utilise appropriate project management controls in line with the department's project management excellence (PME) framework
- Manage the production, release, evaluation and selection of request for tenders
- Work collaboratively within a team of multidisciplinary project managers, providing project management leadership, expert advice and guidance to project team members, including the planning, delegation and quality assurance of work, management of performance and mentoring of junior staff.
To be successful fro the role you should demonstrate the following:
- Project management experience relevant to the deliverables and qualifications of this role, having successfully managed similar technology projects using formal project management methodologies in an environment of strong project governance.
- Commercial acumen to negotiate effectively to establish low risk, value for money commercial contracts that meet the specified requirements. Proven experience in successfully working with and managing specialist service providers in a commercial setting.
- Experience in applying structured project management methods, with a preference for PRINCE2
- Experience in request fulfilment or similar within a Government Department
- Significant senior project management experience using formal project management methodologies.
