Manpower is actively engaged with a State Government department that is now looking for 5 Payroll and Case Advisor's to provide high quality operational HR advice and services to to internal and external stakeholders. The role also facilitates payroll processes, redeployment activities and outcomes. You will be experienced in undertaking HR generalist activities and will pride yourself on being responsive and maintaining integrity in the tasks undertaken.

This is 7-month VPS 4 role and will commence ASAP.

What to Expect:

  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records
  • Undertake a range of payroll related activities that support accurate processing of payments, allowances and deductions including superannuation; make payments of compulsory employer contributions
  • Resolve complex payroll issues within nominated timeframes
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of payroll/HR policies and practises, to ensure advice and processing meet the Departmental policies and processes required
  • Implementing structural changes in the payroll system
  • Manage recruitment documentation including placement or confirmation letters
  • Provide managers with applicant lists for short-listing
  • Processing and managing selection report and applicant preferences
  • Update employee records
  • Provide support and advice to internal and external stakeholder on HR operational policy and processes
  • Provide advice on the appropriate interpretation of VPS and department policies to inform employees about their options and entitlements
  • Assist in the implementation of complex HR system and process changes
  • Support the implementation of Industrial agreements
  • Provide information and advice to managers and staff on changes to relevent HR policies/guidelines and practices
  • Support the delivery of recruitment related projects and/or initiatives as required to deliver upon departmental strategy

About you:

  • Experience operating in a shared services environment
  • Experience in relationship building and client management
  • Knowledge of contemporary HR theory and practice
  • Knowledge of Payroll systems processes and procedures
  • Develops and implements systems and procedures to guide work and track progress
  • Identifies more and less critical activities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required
