Immediate Start - Policy and Research Officers - Victorian State Government

We are seeking talented and experienced Policy and Research Officers to join our Victorian State Government Department on an urgent basis. As a Policy and Research Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including research, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of written outputs.

The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in policy and/or research and be triple vaccinated against Covid-19. You also will need to have previous experience working in State or Federal government.

You will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support the development of policy options, drafting of regulatory changes, and preparation of briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders and industry representatives to achieve effective building policy and regulatory outcomes.

The salary on offer is between $57-$60 per hour excluding superannuation.

THE ROLES

The following Policy roles are available:

Outcomes Framework (VPS4)

Conduct research on comparative outcomes/monitoring and evaluation frameworks

Develop a high-level summary of an outcomes framework and map an approach for the development of a framework for the building system

AMR (VPS4)

Enter stakeholder feedback into spreadsheets and prepare summaries

Assist with preparation of written outputs, including reports, briefs, FAQs, Q&As, etc.

Respond to stakeholder queries

Sense-check documents, proofread, and take minutes/notes.

Trades Reg (VPS4)

Enter stakeholder feedback into spreadsheets and prepare summaries

Assist with preparation of written outputs, including reports, briefs, FAQs, Q&As, etc.

Respond to stakeholder queries

Sense-check documents, proofread, and take minutes/notes.

CPD (VPS4)

Develop an engagement strategy, including project media comms work and Engage Victoria site management

Engage with stakeholders, including arranging meetings/workshops, minute-taking, and responding to enquiries

Assist with preparing key documents, including proofreading, background research, and checking for consistency across new DTP formats.

About You

To be considered for these roles, you will need:

  • Triple vaccination against Covid-19
  • Demonstrated experience in policy and/or research
  • Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field.
  • Previous experience working in state/federal government
