The Company

This rapidly-growing professional services firm is one of the most respected in their industry and have grown nationally from regional beginnings with offices now serving capital metropolitan clients. They are a reputable organisation employing over 140 staff with 14 Partners and are a diverse business providing a range of accounting, financial, advisory and unique IT services, now with a newly established Brisbane office located in a great CBD location and premises.


To help support the on-going growth of the business, they are seeking to appoint a talented Chief Financial Officer.

***There is a strong preference for this role to be regionally based - New England area of NSW - Those open to or seeking a Tree Change will be preferred over those prepared to DIDO or FIFO***

The Role

The Chief Financial Officer will oversee and direct the finance and accounting functions by ensuring there are financial controls in place, financial reports are accurate, timely and well presented and will provide financial insight and information and support to operational management. You will take part in the decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation. This leadership role will identify and implement strategies which positions the business for growth and stability aligned with the future direction of the Firm. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:-


  • Lead the delivery of strategic and operational financial management, reporting and analysis to underpin effective business planning, forecasting, budgeting, performance measurement, benchmarking and resource management
  • Advising on long-term business and financial planning
  • Preparation and management of the annual budget and cash flow forecast
  • Managing and maintaining accuracy of financial management information and accounting systems and relevant accounting control mechanisms
  • Maintain awareness of internal and external financial and economic trends, changes in financial management practice and standards, to identify opportunities
  • Provide financial input to Managing Partner and Executives regarding financial implications of strategies.
  • Ensure all insurance matters are up-to-date .
  • Prepare year end statutory accounts, tax returns and supporting schedules
  • Attend to tax matters for the group including BAS, income tax, payroll tax and FBT returns and lodge by the due dates
